Why be married in a church?
When you are married in a church you are stating that you want
to be married in the sight of God. We consider this to be very
important because marriage is not just an agreement, but a
covenant designed by God in which he wants to be a partner in
your relationship. God is the one who will enable you to learn
to live as great lovers, people who will know the joy and security
of a lasting relationship.
 
That is why we encourage people to come to our church services.
By being part of the family of the church you get a chance to
build relationships not only with the people but with God himself.
As it says in the Bible;
 
 
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Welcome! We are delighted that you are considering being married at our church. Marriage is important to us because it is foundational to God’s design for society. Have a read here and if you would like to talk further about your hopes then don’t hesitate to contact us.
 
 
 
What is required?
1.    Firstly you need to make contact with us to discuss your plans. We recommend attending one of our services – 10:30 am each Sunday. Alternatively, contact the office and arrange a time to speak to the Minister.
2.    Confirm a date and fill in the application form. Send this in to the office along with the deposit to hold the date. (Dates cannot be confirmed until deposit is received.)
3.    Come along to the Church services and get to know us.
4. Participate in various marriage preparation sessions
5.    Complete the necessary paperwork (Minister will advise)
6.    As the day approaches, discuss the details of the wedding service with the Minister. This includes flowers, music, rehearsals and all the other details.
7. Turn up on the day!
Wedding Fees
The wedding fee for Monday to Saturdays (inclusive) is $950, for a Sunday afternoon wedding it is $1,500. These fees cover the church’s obligations for your event which includes the Minister, Organist and Bell Ringer.
 
A deposit of $200 is required at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable. A wedding date is only confirmed after the deposit is received. The remaining fee must be paid 30 days before the wedding. We are only able to accept cheques in full payment of the service.
 
 
Music
Our professional organist is available to provide the organ music at your wedding. There is a list of recommended music from which you may make your selections for your wedding. (Music appropriate for the worship service is strongly recommended). Involvement from other soloists and/or instrumentalists is welcome however this is your responsibility. These arrangements must be discussed with the minister well in advance of the day.
 
 
Photography/Videography
Photography is encouraged in the wedding service, however flash photography is not permitted. Only professional photographers are permitted access to the front of the church during the ceremony and this must be negotiated with the Minister. The ceremony is a religious service and in order to preserve the sacredness of such, we ask that you honour our request
 
If your wedding is to be videotaped, please inform the minister so the videographer knows the appropriate areas from which videotaping is permitted.
 
 
Flowers
It is your responsibility to arrange with a florist for floral decorations. If the church is already decorated for a special event such as Christmas or Easter, please plan to adapt your decorations to the existing church décor. Bows and/or floral arrangements cannot be taped or glued to the pews. These are to be placed over the top of the pew by plastic brackets, ribbon, rubber bands or pipe cleaners. Immediately following the wedding ceremony pew ends are to be removed. If the wedding is held on a Saturday the flowers usually stay in the sanctuary for the Service next day unless otherwise agreed.
Candles
Unity candles, candle tapers and candle holders are your responsibility.
Facilities
Please inform your wedding party and guests that the church does not permit smoking or the use of alcohol in the church and no alcoholic beverages are to be used in the grounds for toasting.
